The project “ECO Volunteers” will be realized in Romania, Galati, from the 20’th
to the 28’th of February 2012, being a multilateral youth
exchange that will bring together groups from Romania, Cyprus, Italy, Poland, Turkey, Greece and Bulgaria.
This project will involve 35 people, aged between 18 and 25 years, 4 youngsters + 1 leader from each country, fulfilling gender
balance condition.
Volunteer activities for environment
will be held by youngsters of different cultures.
The main theme of the project will be realizing an
advertise and an ECO day consisting in a street action that will
illustrate the importance of
volunteering for encouraging the development of youngsters “green”
skills and behaviors.
Our participants will
also discuss topics regarding: inclusive growth, marginalization,
discrimination, gender equality, xenophobia and racism.
The youth will deal with
the topics through the non-formal education approach, including outdoor
activities, workshops, games with the aim to break stereotypes, intercultural
evenings.
For promoting active and European citizenship
among youngsters and persons who are not familiar with the Youth in Action Programme,
we planned to realize a street action that will involve all the participants
and will increase awareness of global environment challenges.
Through this street
action we want to underline the importance of volunteering for this topic. We
aim to use all our creativity and entrepreneurship, in order to find
solutions of protecting the environment.
The advertise will be our quantifiable result, and we will use it
as a tool for changing the world mentality.
This experience will contribute to the personal
development of the youngsters, as they will all participate with their
ideas in preparing and realizing the “ECO day” and the advertise.
In our opinion, this project will improve the environmental
respect. By the youngsters active participation in the project “ECO Volunteers”
we expect awareness of the global reality.
